Frequently asked questions about online giving

Q. What is Vanco Services?
A. Vanco Services is a financial clearinghouse that provides a secure online giving processing service to Grace. Vanco is widely used and maintains the highest level of transaction security.

Q. Do I need a Vanco account to donate?
A. No. You can simply follow the giving link on Grace’s online giving page and the donation will be sent through Vanco using SSL encryption. Grace members who have a Realm account will be prompted to log in to Realm to complete their gift.

Q. How does the church get the money I send?
A. After you enter your payment information, Vanco Services immediately deposits your gift into Grace's account and will email you a receipt.

Q. Are there any fees or costs to give online?
A. Not to you. The full amount that you choose to donate goes to Grace Community Church and is considered a tax-deductible gift. There is a small fee to the church for the processing of credit and debit cards.

Q. Is my information safe and confidential?
A. Yes. Online giving is actually less risky than handwritten checks. An online transaction cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed. Vanco Services automatically encrypts your confidential information using the same SSL encryption security used when you bank online. When you give online, the church does NOT see debit card or bank account number.

Q. How do I know my donation made it to the church?
A. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after you complete your donation. You can keep the email as a receipt for tax purposes.

Q. How is my contribution documented?
A. The financial secretary is the only person who will be aware of your online contribution. Using the address information you provide, your contribution will be recorded for the church records. Your online giving will also be added to your year-end contribution statement, which will be provided to you by the church at the end of the calendar year.

Q. Can I designate how my donation is used?
A. You may designate your gift to either the church General Fund or to our Benevolence Fund, which is used to help members of the church and our community who have special financial needs.

Q. Why do you ask me for my address and other information?
A. This information is needed to confirm that your debit, credit, or bank information belongs to you. It also is the information that the church needs to make sure that your year-end contribution statement is mailed to you for tax purposes.

Q. What are my payment options?
A. Vanco Services will allow you by means of an ACH transfer from your checking or savings account, or by using a credit or debit card. To make an ACH transfer, you will need to provide both the account and routing numbers, which are printed on the bottom of your check.

Both credit and debit cards are accepted, but the use of a debit card attached to a checking account is strongly advised. If you choose to give with a credit card, we encourage you to remain financially responsible by not accruing any debt and by paying off your credit card statement on a monthly basis.
