Putting on a Habit

People say that it’s hard to really know God. We can know about Him, but can we really know Him on a personal level? Others say, “Yes, of course! Just read the Bible and pray to God a lot, and it will happen. If it hasn’t for you, well...do it some more until it does.” Is that, right?

On top of that, we live in the most distracted, fast-paced time in human history. The 9-to-5 wants us to finish work at home, the kids have practices to go to, the car needs to be brought to the mechanic and somebody has to get to the grocery store before dinner. Where does God fit in?

As Pastor Dave left for sabbatical, he was in that place. He wanted real answers to these questions that he could use to deepen his walk with God. As he spent time at monasteries and studied the lives of 4 very different and groundbreaking Christ followers from centuries past, he found some answers.

Join us for this four-week study, starting September 9th, as we talk about putting on spiritual habits — some expected, some unexpected. We’ll look at the lives of four people whose relationships with God not only radically shifted their lives, but even the lives of those around them. You don’t have to become a monk or a nun to have a close, life-changing relationship with the living God! Perhaps putting on a habit or two is all you need.
